I just swapped the 14" LXi alloys on my GTE for my 15" Mistrals now i need to lower the car more as there is less wheel to fill the arches.

We offered up the two wheels together and the 14"s were about 1" bigger when side by side.

im guessin 15"s have 45 profile tyres

and the 14"s probly had a 65 profile tyre

I went from 175/65-14's to 195/50-15's and they seem to be almost exactly the same height.....I hadn't really thought of that before chaging wheels and took a while to register why....lol

Same as mine, is odd though.

not really, the extra 20mm profile is added both sides, so in effect thats 40mm extra of tyre!!

Where you getting 20mm from?

Dicko

the profile, from 65 to 45 is 20mm, as its on the tyre you add that twice (top + bottom)

ok there 60, so thats still 15mm times 2 = 30mm, so thats over an inch!!

i was always led to belive that the depth (45 etc) was a percenatge of the width and not actually measured in mm, so that would also mean that its not 30mm as they are 195 mm wide.
