tryed there but the mk1 guide is not working . i can sort out the wiring i need advise on fitting to a mk1 dash
fitting into the mk1 isnt to hard, you have to chop out the inside surround area so that it fits down inside (top and both sides). On mine i got the astra cowling that holds the clocks in and gently modified it to fit inside to hold the clocks and replace all you cut out, it does the job and if careful can look ok, then just use a couple of black screws into the side and top to hold that in place. The other option so i believe is to get the dash cowling from a mk2 cavalier as they fit abit better from the word go.
Once you get started its simple enough and bits might need some slight trimming etc, just do it so it looks right lol. I didnt have any guides when i did mine and did just that.
(i 'think' there was abit in the back that needed some abuse but i did this agessss ago, got over that with good old thuggery lol)
