nokia and motoralla have confirmed this warning.

If you get a phone call come up on your phone saying "ACE".
[u][b]DO NOT ANSWER IT, AT ALL.
wHAT HAPPENS IS IT PUTS A VIRUS ONTO YOUR PHONE, DESTROYING YOUR SIM CARD TOO. YOU THEN HAVE TO GET A NEW PHONE AND SIM. LOOSING ALL YOUR DETAILS.
nokia have said upto 250,000 phones have been infected already.

i must have seen this about 12 time on difrent boards in the last year.

there will be no virus. there is also no way anmyone called 'ACE' will ring you unlewss you have someone stored in your phone as 'ACE'

It's a hoax and has been doing the rounds since 1999:

There are several versions of this hoax in circulation. Two versions
are as follows:

To: ALL ORANGE USERS

If you receive a phone call and your mobiles phone displays ACE-? on
the screen DON'T ANSWER THIS CALL - END THE CALL IMMEDIATELY. IF YOU
ANSWER THE CALL, YOUR PHONE WILL BE INFECTED BY THIS VIRUS. This virus
will erase all IMEI and IMSI information from both your phone and your
SIM card, which will make your phone unable to connect with the
telephone network. You will have to buy a new phone. ? This
information has been confirmed by both Motorola and Nokia. There are
over 3 million mobile phones being infected by this virus in USA now.
