shud be easy mate, its only a small current to drive the relay on the starter. 3amps max?

I have remote start which is same principle. Ive just fitted a push switch on a mates car and had no problems at all. For push start you just need a relay and the switch. Maplin do some nice push switches.

I made mine up myself.

About ?2 for relay, switches and a couple of lights.

i have two toggle switches (ones momentary contact for obv reasons) controlling mine

i replaced the black block thing, the proper toggle is the ?get the dash to go red one" ie ign on

then the momentary one is for firing the starter.

all original wiring used, no extra stuff (well scotch lock connectors and a bit o wire)

but appart from that you dont "need" relays and shitte lol

daft q, but what do you do for security? Do you still use a key to turn on then push button to start?

umm i have no ign key lol

that is down to it snapping in the barrel mid summer last year and i couldnt be arsed to pay ?40 for a bareel and yet anouther key for the car. so i just used 2 swithces that i already had to replace the existing system.

for security i erm occasionally set my alrm, but it sometimes forgets that it has a fob to turn it off and i have to set the alarm off before i can turn it off lmao

Yeah if you start the Landy by hand you have to put the key in, except that the wires arn't very well connected and are very visable out of the back of the Barrel.

I always imagined some fancy gizmo like the renault lagunas with that card thing.

The renaults are really clever. I drove one of the new Meganes whilst on holiday and it had the push botton starter with the elctronic keycard. The card has the button to unlock the car and once the cars unlocked, the stereo, electric windows and other electric gadgets work. Once you slide the card into the slot, you have to put your foot on the brake pedal and press the start button at the same time (they dont show you that bit in the advert, lol. Trying to figure out what the car is saying in spanish was funny, had to ask the car hire place how to start it, lol)
