I am going to buy my first nova, but first I have some questions. The styling kit om going to smack on is from bat motorsport. It will be lowered and there will be fitted 16 or 17inch rimms. Now for my question. Mk1 or mk2? And how much of a problem will it be fitting them 17's on?
Thank you all for a great forum! :D

The mk2 is newer (obviously) and as a result its easier to finda tidy one.
MK2's also have the benefit of slightly different arches so less work will be required to fit those wheels you are after.

It's all up to you really mate - with enoguh effort anything is possible.

Ahh, thanks mate. A Mk2 it is then. Ok, I now know of a fucking nice car (the nova) unfortunately it only has 60 bhp or so. I wan't to go turbo. What are my options here? Read about 2liters and 1,6 with turbo. (are these kadett engines or how is this?) Again thanks 8)

Insurance is the main wall in the way of 2litres and turbos.

MK2 look more modern that mk1's well as modern as a ten year old car can be. In personal opinion they look better,.

17s will go, 16s are a lot easier du to the fac theyre a bit smaller..

2litres as i know and according to others are fairly easy to do.

Turbos also are as far as i know. Ur best off waitring til sum1 like rick draper, dan 16v, ste_sa or someone else comes on here.

Firstly, I own a Mk2 so I will say Mk2 all the way.

Secondly, how old are you. I would advise against jumping from a 1.2 to a 2.0 Turbo because the insurance and power will be hugely differnet and the last thing you want to happen is to kill yourself after only just getting the car.

Thirdly, how much do you have to spend? Getting a BAT front bumper in good condition and fitted and sprayed isn't a cheap job, this will also have reprocusions on your insurance as the car will now be classed as having a bodykit.

My advice, buy yourself a standard clean Mk2. If you're a new driver, get yourself a few years NCB bonus built up and then start modifying.

as jim says and i repeat myself again and again, i dont want to sound harsh by saying this i have been there but STOP DREAMINGGGGG

17 and a valver = stuuuuuuuuuupid!!

if your 17 or 18 get a 1200, 1300 or 1400 insure it with sum1 insurance friendly mod wise, perhaps the ppl that let u do a grand or 2 of cosmetic mods and the like then start playing with your choice of "kit" urghhh lol, wheels, lower, zorst, etc etc, interior u get the idea :D

good luck

p.s. Mk1 front end is better mk2 interior is better

ive owned both but never the above combo....... yet :D :P

Im 19. But insurance is no problem. The car will be in my father's name and he will take care of the insurance. I live in norway so I was hoping bat could send it to my without spraying it... If I buy a 2liter, what else do I need? Is there a kit around?

I own a mk2 but having seen some of the cars at traxthis september the mk1 front bumper depinately grown on me.

more aggressive - although the centre grill's not to my liking - prefer mk2.

Nope. Mk1 Bumpers only. Not headlights, grill or wings.

Am I missing the Point here??

Aragorn asked if CP's car is MK2 front with MK1 bumper and you say - NO it's MK2 front with MK1 bumper..........So, realistically the answer is YES CP's car is MK2 with MK1 bumper...
