For some reason, my GTE has got through a set of leads in about 7 months. Is this normal or is it a sign of some underlying problem with the ignition system?

The set I put on was nothing special, but I made sure they had the metal sleeve on the plug end. Also have the usual fun with Vauxhalls for the coil lead with the pin connector.

Any recommendation as to the best set of leads that aren't stupid money?

the pin type cap and coil is a real pain in the arse - trust vauxhall to do something different

i just put a set of bosch ht leads on my j-plate gsi

they are fine

halfords have them in their book, but don't keep stock on their shelves

however, they can order them in which takes a couple of days

part codes for pin type coil and disi cap is 957233 and they cost ?20.90

the standard halfords ones (which i think are champion?) seem to burn out in a year

hope this helps :-)

ive had a set of bosch silcone HT leads on my 1.2 for about 3-4 years now. and they are starting to show their age lol

they were ?39.99 back then lmao

but they have been good value ie about ?10 a year which is an average price for regular ones lol
