well how long/many miles has it been? ide say a 1000 miles but thats me. just in case. 0-200: old oil, very gently driving.
200-500: new oil in, gently driving.
500-1000: can start to put foot down, using caution.
1000+: re-introduce yourself to the rev. limiter.

if its just a new gasket then 300 miles below 3.5k rpm, 200 below 4.5k, then do what you like, no full throttle action during running in process.

hope you used a vuax gasket and bolts, no cheapo copies

 no i didn't use the vaux gasket or bolts, all seems to be going ok and i think i could get it rolling roaded soon then :)

I asked this very same question to the guys at Velos on Tuesday. They said for the first 50 miles take it very carefully, no more than 3500rpm. For the next 500 miles take it easy, but on the occasion that the car is warm enough, gently ease the car up the rev range to 5000rpm, but only on the odd occasion. They said that if you drive a car at 3000rpm for the first 1000miles the engine will not perform to its full potential as you'll have bedded things in at low revs. It's not until you've done around 3500miles that the engine will be performing at its best.

thats what i done as soon as i drop'd c14se head on my 14nv, it doesnt pull untill around 3000 rpm but than it goes like a rocket until 7000rpm.

For some funky reason when it gets past 6000rpm it really pulls and im not pissing about here and its using the stock 14 nv cam.

but i would like more low-end torque
