Howdy all.
Having issues with the 1.3 SR. It's been laid up since Mid last year. Started fine and ran well in October '21.
Tried starting it in May (last month) but it failed to start. It turns over fine, very good compression across all cylinders, good spark on all plugs, 1/4 tank of fuel (max 6 months old) + a fresh gallon, fully charged battery. Checked fuelling and feed hose flows fuel all the way to the carb, but it won't start. You have to pump the throttle really fast to almost get it to start. Tried easy start spray and some fuel poured down the carb and it fires up but it's out soon as it's burned through the fuel.
My guess is the carb, however I've not checked the timing. Can anything be done with the carb in-situ or does it have to come off? Tried the usual liberal blasting of carb cleaner but no luck.
If it is the carb, anyone know of any good carb refurb firms in the southeast?
