Hi,

Is their an easy way of spraying your alloys/ painting them yourself. I've got some silver ones at the mo but want to make em black.

Anyone tried this??

Any ideas?

Cheers

Will

probably not much more expensive to get it done properly.

Theres alot of effort involed, you would proubably be better off getting it done profesionally, there is a site that has a guide i will try to find it for you

If i remember rightly, when Ade did his big rebulld he refurbed and resprayed his alloys, might be worth having a word with him

Its still live about 10 down on this page!

pm for advice - if you can hold a spray can, know how to use it and can use sand paper - its easy!

if not practice on a bit a old metal or something smooth and then try

make sure its fully degreased 1st and that all the rust is away

If spare is a steelie you wont get the same look coz alloys are smoother - it just looks better on an alloy!

Once sparyed the main colour - allow to fully dry than apply the lacquer - this will smooth out any "rough" patches.

Once this is dry you can polish up.

use about 3-5 layers of lacquer allowing each to tack dry fully (15-30 mins between each in warm conditions)
