Misfire (ready to put a hammer through the windscreen 🤬)

My car has an annoying misfire,stutter,when driving say in 3rd going round a corner it stutters/splutters and does the same when cruising,iv fitted new plugs/leads/roter/dizzy cap.
compression tested and all 4 cylinders at 190.
carbs rebuilt by a well known man,rolling road pulled like a good one yet I still have this miss stutter.
its a c16se on twin 40s.
im fuming with it now,am I missing an earth?? Is the distributor goosed,any way I can test it???
when you give it the beans it flys no missing or stuttering.

Have you checked the timing with a strobe light? Mine did this and it was out so undone the clamp on the dizzy and adjusted it by turning it until I got it right been right since.

What did you set timing to?? 10 because I keep reading it’s different running unleaded?? Is yours cammed up?

No it's not cammed I carnt remember I set it to what the Haynes said pal. Sure it was 10 degrees.

Dizzy timing in Haynes is for leaded, it will need retarding a bit.

Right, I’ve been Away a while, and I’m getting my nova mojo back up to speed..

you are running a c16se, on carbs, With a lumpy cam on a z16se bottom end, but what dizzy? A vacuum advance or something like mega jolt might be the only way to get it Smooth.
did you have the head skimmed?
are you running super or regular petrol?
