View Full Version : Rear inner arches
Been stripping the underside of my nova, and its surprisingly very clean apart from the drivers side rear inner arch. I've been searching for someone cutting up a shell for a few weeks with no luck. Will these panels be the same on a saloon as I've seen a few of them breaking. Just to add the chassis rail behind is in good order. Thanks https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200711/a9828adf7b664a9a01b14968b7d838a6.jpg

I'd just cut the rot out and make a new section for it pal be easier than having to find a panel.
I don't mind making the one at the rear. Its just the one on the right of the pic behind the shock if I can find one from a donor car. Hopefully its the same on a 4 door saloon

Just do it in sections, cut the rot out and butt weld new patches in, its a common place for them to rot.

Get a piece of cardboard to make a template then copy on to metal so you can shape it to the right contour.
Make sure you weld in a nicely curved piece behind the shock if you ever plan on going to coilovers. Agreed there's very little benefit finding a donor panel for that, especially finding a good one given it's a very common place.
Thanks guys, the hole at the rear I'm pretty confident at doing its just the one behind the shock that worries me and since the panel is separate hopefully I can find a decent one.
