Sadly just found a hole in my rally cars 1.4SR fuel tank two weeks before our next event.

Struggling to find a new replacement tank for a 3 door carb'ed nova, however there are new injection versions about for £50.

Does anyone know the detailed differences? And can we modify an injection version to work for our car? (EG add a return feed if needed)

Before ringing around tomorrow i thought id consult the wisdom of PNG!

Thanks

Rob

I believe the injection tanks (probably on eBay?) have different sender units to the carb so you cannot fit you carb sender to it. Also the feed and return inlet and outlets are larger.

The injection tanks on eBay are useless for injection!!

I've been using one on my car and have had to add a swirl pot and return because they don't have the correct swirl pot inside like an original tank.

In summary, if you're using carbs, then the eBay tank will work, if you're using injection you'll need a lift pump and external swirl pot.

Be aware i ordered one from eBay and it took a few weeks to arrive as they were out of stock.

We added this return, just above the fuel sender unit. Works perfectly.
