Engine swap?

I'm looking for a little advice, I want to swap my engine and box out for something with more power, the current 1200 engine is leaking from a few places and lacks grunt on the f10 box.
I'm thinking 1.6 carb on an f13 box, but I'm open to any suggestions. I don't want a flying machine but just something that goes a little better than I have, with longer gears.
I don't really want to go redtop, I'm looking for as simple a swap as possible.
Also if anyone has an good engine / box for sale I'd be interested to know what you have and what you want for it.

1600 16v straight out of a corsa straight into a nova with a couple of daft bits
Probs cheaper to do than an 8v aswell

as above the 1400 or 1600 16v are cheaper than most 8 valve engines nowadays and are a straight swap

Thanks for the replies, I've been afk all week.
I'm still looking, and so is my brother in law (mechanic) for a suitable donor.
So far the only engine I've found is a 600 mile round trip :(

I just thought I'd update this as its getting close to the time work will start on the swap.
I bought a Zafira but that turned out to have a couple of engine issues so that was put to one side, then I bought this last week.

1.6i, 66k, 1997, engine looks ok and drives well.
Also got a set of speedlines on it too, even if they do want a refurb.

Hopefully this will turn out to be the right donor, unless any of you lot know different?
