Car still doing this in low gear. New cts sensor and checked everything inc wiring. Could the box be knackered. ?

I assume you've also checked the basics like ignition timing?

Air flow meter? Or a leak after it

torquey

Yes ignition timing checked carnt find any leaks.!

A vac leak would usualy cause a judder lower down the revs

No vac hoses off the manifold?

I did check them but will do again to rule them out.

Check the one way valve thing as well on the pipe to the servo . Mine started passing air through and i noticed the car drove fine after i had pressed the brake . Was a long 200 mile drive home dabbing the brake ever couple of minutes but it made it lol

The engine starts fine idles fine from cold one up to temp idle drops to low and cuts out. It will continue to start but then cut out when hot. One cooled a little it's fine and idles normaly. Any ideas ??

Bit of a bodge but a mate used to have to do this with his m5 . When its hot and it cuts out try tipping ice cold water all over the cts until the area is cool if it fires up n runs its a problem there .

Lol will try it. I've fitted a new genuine cts sensor no change. It's annoying me to say the least.

Yea it would be me as well by now mate nothing worse than a daft problem that can't be found .

On the way to work today car cut out then was hard to start again finally got it going again then was ok. I've checked and made new earths to make sure. I checked voltage at battery when running it's saying 16.2v?? Also checked voltage at pump that's saying 14.3 v is this right?Think I have a dodgy electrical issue somewhere also if I start it after I've turned it off it will hunt and try and cut out.!

Id have said 16v seems quite high mate im sure mine only does about 14.3 maybe its pumping to much into the ecu and its knocking all the signals to pot ?

That is what I thought. Could it be the voltage regulator on the alternator that's at fault?

The thats what will have broke mate

torquey

Right I've got a spare alternator so will get it swapped and see if it sorts it. Hopefully this is the problem with all the issues I've being having. Thanks for the help pal.

It would make sense mate if this is the problem because the sensors are probs going wild lol

Yeh will just get a new one ordered hopefully not too expensive lol.

Did you do the Haynes book TPS bridging thing when checking the timing? You then need to retard it for unleaded.
def check the flexi pipe for a split.
also look at the air inlet valve (electric choke?
the coil & amplifier are a known issue too.

No not bridged it didn't notice that will take a look. I've checked the flexi pipe no cracks or splits. The valve is new so all good there cheked the amp and coil also. It seems to be low down I notice the holding back and kangarooing.

Pulled into work this morning and car started to miss badly black smoke then cut out. I was giving it some round a bend before hand. Went to start and just cranked so left it a few hours just tried again and fired up.??
