View Full Version : Any chance?
I'm 18 and have a 1.3SR and i'm considering getting a loan to get a 2l 16v turbo coversion. The thing is, I'm wondering if theres a chance of me getting insured once this hs been done, anyone else here my age with a "valver turbo" on the road?
:o :o thats gonna be expensive

unlikely you would afford the insurance mate.
better off waiting and saving the money instead of getting a loan, once you have the money > you should be able to afford the insurance.
Not to mention the fact that you'd probably kill yourself

I was going to say that also. Fit a GSi engine or similar then drive that then go onto a 2.0l or similar.
the trusty SR just don't seem quick enough for me, ah well i just phone liv vic and they said i'd have to be 21 b4 they even considered it :( , so looks like i'll save up and maybe put twin webers and a fast road cam on the SR :|
21 its possible
20 it can be done
19 it can be done but will not be cheap and u will prob kill urself

i can see your point though, i have gotten so used to the power of my motor. as everyone else says though. keep it down a bit till you get a bit more experience etc.
at the time my car dont seem fast, its only when u jump in something lesser powered u realise!
Will judging by the pattern its a 1.8 nova for u when ur 21...

yeah you can.
Get insured on a shitter with CIS or similar company, and get someone insured on the 2ltr (cost me 300 to have me old deer insured TP only).
This way, you insurance covers you to drive any car with the owners permission (you you'll have to put the car in your mum...or whoevers name).
Cost me about ?800 when I was 19.
:D
thats another way to do it, lol
