Hello all,

I have been reading you too much time before I decided to create this post...

I want to warning you that I'm from Spain (sorry about my english) and I'm very lazy with this "online stuff" , but the aim of this post is sharing my passion and the adventures of my little partner ;-).

Also I Will try to gather my piece of wisdom about this kind of cars.

As personal challenge I will try to get the post updated regularly by uploading photos, ideas, crazy ideas, super MAD IDEAS .... And using It like diary also.

So in order to introduce you my better half, I Will start from the beggining:

Unfortunately, Rusty is deadly ill... He is in intensive care, and we are waiting for a heart donor :-(.....

Short Update before going to sleep.

We are going to be back to the nigth of our first date.... I know that a true gentleman shouldn't Talk about this private issues, but, fortunately, I'm far from being one of them ;-).

The aftenoon was cool, I remeber that de were meeting each other. Later on, in the evening, we went for a test ride on a gravel road near my house.

I also remeber that we got stuck on a ditch... Yep, I remember that sensation, I had just bought my car and a few hours later I was wondering if calling my dad at 3 am or trying to free Rusty from the ditch, Alone in the dark.

New shoes.

Due to scratches they were an actually bargain.

I restored them and after a few coatings of paint they look like this:

It was a smart purchase, cause we will do a considerable trip at the beginning of the following year ;-) (remember that we were on Dec 2017).

No sorry i owned it 15 years ago and smashed it into a round about they were worth peanuts at the time so ended up in the scrap yard . I wish i still had it now though

Its funny to me, the Life cycle of Cars:

1) New
2) > 5 years - Used
3) >10 years - Old
4) >15 years - Very Old
5) >20 years - Trash with wheels
6) 24 years - Carbon
7) >25 years - DIAMOND

At that time we were discussing about a kind of road trip, so while thinking were to go, we started the refurbishment of the Car: new tyres, new coolant (with radiator change), oil & filter, timing belt and due to some mornings car used to start at 3 cylinders, we decided to change head gasket too.

Unfortunately I have no pics of this process, but I have of the breaking-in period:

I remember painting the lower half of the car black just like you have there with my first Nova back in 1995!
Also did the b pillars and the strip across the back of the boot (like a GTE) in black paint too.

I like the astra wheels, looking good!
