This might seem a daft question but my interior light only illuminates when the door is open and short of putting a switch on it is there a better interior light thats an easy swap? Maybe from another car? I understand it will want new wiring running to it as the old one is powered from the switches in the door shuts but I just wondered if anyone had swapped theirs out for something different?

On a mk1 if you pull out the headlight knob it should light up without opening the door. Don't know if it's the same on mk2.
