The car is a Vauxhall mk3 astra. really need some help here, i have put this on most forums coz i'm stuck.

Right well i got hold of a Clifford 100 G4 alarm system. I got it out of a ford fiesta. I took everything off and labelled it asa good as i cud. On the fiesta the central locking outputs weren't in use coz the car didn't have central locking, so they were taped up in the loom. all looked like it wud be dead easy to fit and it all SHUD work fine but it doesn't

I fitted the alarm as good as i cud, all joints soldered/taped up properly. I used the central locking outputs on my car, i connected them to the brown/white & brown/red. And when i tryed it the central locking kept locking/unlocking for a bit then stopped. Turned armed/disarmed the alarm and it woz working ok but no central locking, hit the car and the alarm went off working ok, but then the alrm went off on its own and wudn't stop. Unpluged it and tryed again and it did the same. Not happy.

So i unplugged the central locking, and the alarm doesn't do anything without these connected And there isn't any reason y it shudn't. i have left these disconnected and it won't do anything no matter wot u do.

Heres a list of wires that are not connected:

grey/green central locking outputs?? well think so.
grey/orange

2x brown wires , these are for the indicators, didn't connect them yet coz wasn't sure where shud put them too, but cant see that stopping it working.

1x Black, now in the fiesta that i took it out of this wire woz connected to a relay in the fuse box(connected to a brown wire on the relay) don't know wot the realy did. Obviousely this wire is there for a reason but i don't know y???

1x Brown/red, this wire woz soldered to the black wire above, not sure y.

Anyone wanna help me coz my car won't go anywhere and i can't do anythin coz it don't work

If i can't get this alrm working then it might have to be a new loom jobby and don't want to do that

Someone must know please help

Cheers

DAN

sorry mate, i'm the same. think your gonna have to call a auto electrician in or a car alarm specialist. either way your alarm aint gonna be registered with your insurance company unless you have a cert to prove it was fitted proper.

black may be a ignition live, but dont quote me.
Either keep trying different wire combos you never know you may get it right (but expect some fire  ), find a manual for it, or get an expert in.

My idea? Take it out, sell it to someone else gullible enough to buy it, use the money you got for it and put it towards paying for someone to fit an alarm.
At least you'll be able to use your car.

Tbh taking an alarm from a Ford and attemptiing to fit it to a Vauxhall was always gonna be difficult as I expect the two different companys have different colours in their wiring looms for different things.
Cliffords are difficult enough for the pros to install, esp nowadays as all the wires are black and unmarked.

But for what it's worth, the black wire connected to the relay could of been the fuel pump relay (Does it have a built in immobilizer?) or it could of been the relay for the hazard lights for when it's armed / disarmed.
How do you know that's what the brown wires do?
Red wire connected to the black one is confusing but again I refer back to the fuel pump relay of maybe it's a switched ignition +12v to stop the possiblitys of the alarm being armed whilst the ignition is on?
See what I mean, loads of possible options to choose from.

Sorry to sound negative.

Don't worry i have done it and it all works prefect now. central locking aswell :D The black wire woz an earth wire and the brown/ red needed earth too thats y it woz soldered to the black wire.

How happy am i!!

This isn't the first time i have swapped a clifford alarm. I swapped over a Clifford C300 from a nova GTE to a 1 litre nova, this had window closure the lot. And that worked fine first time, thats y i thought i'd do it myself again. And the alarm didn't cost me anything so its all worked out good in the end. 8)

cheers anyway
