So needing new tyres for mine all round and was going to replace what was already on the car (hankook ventus primes). But haven’t found a great price for them as I have a tight budget.
Looking on eBay demon tweeks are doing really good prices on the toyo proxes (similar tread pattern to the hankook) but have read poor reviews. It’s only a road car so are these possibly not suitable for what I need? These are for Astra sport 15s if it makes any difference.
Thanks
Richard

I got 4 new t1r for my nova from demon tweeks for £200 not tried them yet but heard mix reviews. I carnt see them being poor really for a road car.
I got a pair of T1R's fitted to the front of mine, felt like it drove a lot better, felt more compliant over bumps too.
Buuuuut...
I have a 1.0 engine and the old tyres were rock hard, 15 years old, cracked, and nearly bald sooooo.... pushbike tyres would probably have been an improvement lol

Tr1 really aint that great, a set of ns2r or ado8r would better suit a higher powered nova.

Well been looking at reviews on the hankook prime 3 and the toyo proxes cf2 and they seem to be coming out better than the tr1’s with just a few quid between them. Torn at the moment between them.

Bought a full set brand new but never ended up using them so put them up for sale and struggled for over a month to sell them ended up selling them for £100 for 4 with the stickers still on etc . I just take it by how I struggled to sell them they cant be very highly rated . My partner already had a set on her civic with pro race 2 wheels and said they were shit in the wet.

I've been looking into these recently, they seem to get poor reviews on heavier cars, as the sidewalls are apparently soft, on smaller lighter cars they seem to get mostly good reviews, although in the wet everyone seems to say they are not great.

It’s not until I looked at the reviews of the proxes that the performance wasn’t very good. Just saw cheap and thought I’d jump in head first. Looking likely I will be getting the hankook prime 3’s now.
They’re absolute crap I don’t know why some people rave about them.

So regardless of budget, what's the best summer tyre you can get in 195/45/15?
I've currently got 195/50/15 ns2r on my build but they are just too wide, they rub on the Gaz rear coilover, so to clear that I used a spacer and rolled the arch but it still running, so I need to go down to 195/45 now.

I am running Uniroyal Rainsports and pretty impressed with them
Rainsports are a solid choice although I'm sure there's better options if the car never sees standing water. Just not sure what comes in 195/45.

Toyo T1Rs aren't that bad if on a light car, with 100bhp and if used on the road in the dry. They only become inferior when pushed or you want them to be something other than a budget tyre.
Rainsport 3s are meant to be good. Old type T1Rs are fine, new ones are meant to be crap. There isn't many tyres available in 195/45R15. That's the problem I currently have.

Think I'm going to try Goodyear eagle f1s, not cheap but but not that expensive either.
Not sure if you can get them in the sizes, but Pirelli PZero's are decent imho.

Put some Rainsport 3s on my daily a few weeks ago. A million times better then the shitty continental things that were on there.
Dont know if they make the 3s that small tho, i run 255/35/19 on a nearly 2 tonne saloon car lol

Explains why my 45bhp rocket that never sees rain feels mint on them lollol

Had them on the Astra in 18s, had to go for 4 at the start of the year and ended up with Continentals which are noisey, shit fuel economy and do like to test the traction control. On the upside, 7 months on and they don't look like they have warn....
