Do I need a trigger wheel for ITBs?

Hi all

Been reading about ITBs as I was given a set (bike ones) and after looking at management options I am a bit confused:

My c20xe is an 88 or 89 iirc so should have a 60-2 already, so thinking I could use the current crank sensor...

Cant see why it wont work with standard one . And it will deffo work if u fit stand alone
