I'm in the process of putting a c20xe in a non vaux and due to clearance issues I'm going to be much much better off running the alternator on the front of the engine. Anyone ever done this before or is there some obscure gm heap that has a bracket that may work? I'm assuming I'll have to use some kind of small alternator as space really is limited. Cheers guys, the sooner I get this built the sooner I can play novas again so please help me lol

You can run them in their original position without modding the chassis leg apparently. Through spacing and trimming the pulley and bracket... Alex Darcy has done this on al his...

If it was a nova it wouldn't be an issue, but it's a mk1 fiesta and I've had to trim so much already I don't want to take any more out the legs unless I really have to

Has it ever been done before?

Have you looked for lightweight race alternators? There a bit smaller and aslong as your ok for making the bracketry then your good to go

You have to run the alt on the front if you fit xes to minis - so check out some of the mini forums... its been done a few times!
