150hp is optimistic with that inlet.

_Brian

According to the build manual they had up to 150bhp on standard inlet.

yep, the oem inlet is pretty damn good tbh.

What pump are you using and how is it mounted to the engine?

Its a daewoo nexia 1.5 16v pump, bolts directly to the engine with 2 bolts. Engine mount has to be changed for the return hose. And you have to change to multi v pulleys with a 5pk belt

Did you get it on the dyno?

Did you get it on the dyno?

Yer, ended at 120 hp after cam lobes started to break on first cyl.

Just saw this but I ran a Kent AST17 cam in my 1400 8v for years but that was on twin 40s so not really suitable for your setup.

With higher compression through decking the block, solid lifters etc that made around 130bhp which isnt earth shattering but was fine.

New camshaft has been mounted.
Car went to technical control for rally yesterday, looking to make an appointment for rolling road right now.

Engine was already delivering 132hp without being completly mapped.

Untill engine started rattling atleast lol

Valve rocker got thrown away .. anyone ever had this before? Nothing broken it was just laying next to the valve ..

Yes, it happens with highlift cams if the geometry of the valve train has not been adjusted by machining the cam carrier...

.could you explain further? Dont quite understand ..

The base diameter is smaller, otherwise it is not possible to make higher lift than 11,67mm on this engines. The other reason with small cams, that it was regrinder from oem cam.
What cam do you have? Measure the small diameter on your cam, measure the oem cam too, OEM-Tuning devided by 2 and you have the number how much must be grinded from the cam housing, that the cam will be closer to the rockers.

Enem a2 camshaft has base diameter 24mm (std 25.5mm) but I use the enem spring kit with thicker valve top hats 3.2mm to compensate.
So I schould be fine I think?

And is it fine? :)
With competition high lift cams at the 8v heads you must always use special cam spring washers and machine out under the washer otherwise you can not reach the 34mm fitted spring height.
It can be that enem compensate at the top hats, but I prefer to regular way what all the others are doing.
If you are fine with your setup why have you asked? :)

_Brian

So it ìs safe to macine 4mm from under the valve washers?

_Brian
18-08-19, 06:43 PM
problem was a seized exhaust valve

Engine was dyno's at 120hp and 113lb/ft measured at the wheels with an air intake temp of 45°C (113°F)
