I've bypassed the tank and lines and tried to feed fuel straight from the pump to the carb and nothing happens.

I'm looking to replace my oem fuel pump from my 1.3sr. Could anyone recommend a different one?

Take it off and inspect the condition of the lobe on the cam before buying a new one as it's driven off it. Any decent aftermarket make one will be ok if it's the pump its self they only run low pressure

The cam is brand new as head was rebuilt. Should i go for another mechanical one or something like a facet/walbro etc?

There are new ones knocking about on eBay. The fuel pump may not seem to work as its full of air probably, so once you are able to get some fuel through it it may pump through. However if it's the original one you might aswell change it. You can get an electric one ie facet and mount it on the inner wing.

I'd personally go standard, less work than putting in an electric pump, the standard one can easily move enough for twin 40s

yes. Never had any problems in 25 years with under fuelling on the standard pump.
