Hi I have a set of front Gaz coilovers can any one tell what drop these are. There don't seem to be many threads on the body's. I have dropped the car on full drop and it don't seem low enough.
Here is a pic of the coilover. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180107/3fdc072c677c03b80963582b1bf42025.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180107/baf7b426251d097e494d091407063eee.jpg

Loose those strut tops mate and fit alloy type ones will get alot more drop as you dont use all that rubber n spacers n stuff on the top.

Worth a shot how much are alloy top mounts. ? Only thing is when jacking car up the spring is completely loose as the piston is at full travel with the standard top mounts won't It be worse with the alloys ones. ?

Wind it up as you will havealot more play without the standard tops otherwise buy some helper springs. The tops are about 100 from gaz and obp :thumb:

bit off topic but lookingat the picture you have posted you are missing a locking ring from under the spring there should be a pair that lock together to lock the platform at adetermined high not just a single one which will allow the spring platform to move

As stated should have 2 rings like this mate https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180107/e02178875360665d89537ee62894a8d0.jpg

Just had another look and these have a locking grub screw in the collar to lock them.

Mine have that too and still have 2 rings
The grub screws can seize and make your life a mare :( voe
Sounds like thats a very hard spring if you arent getting much drop AND it goes loose when jacked up. Helpers are all well and good but sadly on the nova most touch the tyre, and also you ADD 20-30mm to your ride hight.
Correct top mounts and different springs should see you right

The ones that cone with them should be fine
Grub screw and one ring is fine.
It may be a mix of spring rate and length, take them off and check for a marking on the end and measure their length.
250lb or there abouts is probably nice on a 1.6, you can get away with a 6" spring to clear the tyre and run helpers if you don't want to let the spring go loose but it's no biggie really.

Ok will measure the springs and see. Don't think I will bother with helpers.
