c16se into younger car

hey guys, i asked this question in a few places, but didnt get any answers, and i thought, if anyone knows, you lot with your vauxhall wisdom, probably do.

the c16se engine - any idea if has the 3 threaded bolt holes on the side of the engine, next to the waterpump ? (triangular bolt pattern)

i was planning on putting that engine into a newer mk.4 astra, which uses a side mounted engine bracket, instead of the regular front mounted bracket.

they did fit 2 smallblock 8v's into those shells, the x16szr and the z16se, which both have the 3 bolt bracket setup, but there newer engines, and could have changed the design of the bottom ends, specifically for the fit ?

any info or pictures of the side of a c16 would be good thanks :thumb:

im just trying to make sure i dont get stuck, when it comes time to put it in

the older engines do have threaded bolt holes between the pulleys, as they used to run power steering pumps and such in that spot, but ive not got one to check, and cant find any pictures that are clear

ill probably have to dig into an old corsa or astra at a breakers yard to find out. take the belt and covers off, and see if the bracket bolts up

cheers balley, didnt know about that nemiga site.
i had a look on there, and all those 1.6 bottom ends appear to have the same bolt hole layout in the side of the block, so i think it should fit ok, providing it has the correct belt covers to go with it, or atleast modify the original covers, to give clearance for the bracket.

i double checked the mk.3 astra too, which has same engine, and it has the x16szr engine listed in with it, which was fitted to the mk.4 also, so should be ok in theory.

looks like it uses the top most 2 bolt holes, just below the deck, and the lower bolt hole, just a bit left of the crankshaft :

now i just need to figure out how to get round the inlet manifold, as it fouls on the brake fluid reservoir
