Iam struggling to set the timing up on on my e16se. I've got the mark on the crank sprocket lined up with the mark on the oil pump which is 6 0clock. The cam pulley is lined up with the mark on the back plate. I've locked the flywheel problem is every time I tension the belt and spin over the engine it goes out a tooth every time. Any help would be great
Is the belt the correct length?

Iam pretty sure it is. 104 teeth seems to be right after checking.

Timing sorted now but car is being hard to start and when it does it's missing bad and over fueling. It runs sweet as at 2-3000 rpm? Any ideas. Maybe a dodgy sensor somewhere? Also fitted a new fuel pump still the same.
Ignition timing is & usually gets advanced way too much

How do I sort this ? Car don't want to start.
Do you have the light blue Haynes book with the section on E16SE in chapter 13? It's all in there
