I've asked this on two forums and only one forum has given me most of the answer I need.
So, common EGR issue on MK4 Astra (X16SZR). I have bought a blanking plate and I intend on blanking the hole off, remounting the EGR but facing the wrong way so the plunger doesn't contact the blanking plate or anything else. Do I need to replace the EGR valve to solve the high fuel consumption issue, or will blanking it off (but plugging it) in solve it?
