I have noticed when I run the tank not full but probably anything over half way the fuel tank breather is leaking fuel.
the breather runs down from the filler along the side of the tank, it's pretty high set to make it any higher it would need to come inside but that's not the best idea so I am looking for any suggestions from anyone that's had or known about this problem before.

thanks 👍

The one that connects to the filler neck then goes through the hole is the body? Is the pipe just split somewhere,

The pipe runs down and along the top of the tank, as far as I remember it's just open ended. It feeds down through the hole in the body

If you mean the one on the neck, then that's deffo a split pipe!

The pipe thats on the filler neck attaches to the tank directly. The smaller diameter hose next to it is the one that runs along the length of the tank and vents to air at the other side.

The smaller one should connect to nothing never seen one leak, does it supposed to go to carbon canister on yours? Don't know why it would do into the body. I e seen them stop along the tank and near rear axle. Strange fuel coming out of it

Hi, Have a similar problem with my GSI, smell off fuel most of the time, less when tank is low, hard cornering its even worse I have replaced all pipe work from take to filter and pump right through to engine bay still didn't cure it, maybe its this breather pipe on the filler, need to take a look concidering taking the tank out to see if I have a problem somewhere else. Cant drive the car without the window's open.

With age they can tend to split and it's not usually obvious to see. Quite a job with tank in car as it's tough enough fitting a new one with the tank off the car.

What are my chances of finding a new filler unit.

It's just the braided hose....you can get lots of choice on eBay....you just need some new clips
