Hi there chaps, new to the forum so please forgive me if I post in the wrong place!

Im after a bit of advice regarding a MK2 which I'm considering buying. It's a 1.2 spin 3DR hatch but being a Ford bloke for years (forgive me) I have no idea what the going rates are!

Looked over it the the other day and when I say it's near mint I'm not kidding! Engine bay, boot floor, interior, arches etc are immaculate!! It's had 2 patches of welding on the floor done to a high standard, 70k on clock, completely original even down to the dealer plates.

i know it's hard to judge without seeing it but what's a ballpark figure for a unmolested example?

Cheers!!

Novas are getting worth more so make sure there's no rot in the engine bay, strut tops, inner wings, battery tray, rear spring mounts to name a few as well.

Is the car fully original and has it plenty of history with it? Change of engine???

Anything from £1000 to £1800 imo possibly with it depending on where you live, it's not one of the most sought after models which will make it worth less....

Hi there mate, thanks for the detailed reply. Regarding history I didn't look too much tbh but from what I saw there's a fair bit. Regarding engine, it's the original one, the cars had 3 owners and is fully original, nothing has been altered, it's very solid from the quick look I had, battery tray is as new. I won't say the exact price I can have it for but let's just it's under £1k. That said it does need an MOT and has been off the road a year or so

Sounds good so far for the money, regarding mot's get an account on this link, it doesn't cost to see the mot's from previous but will if your wanting to see if it's stolen recovered:
https://totalcarcheck.co.uk/

Stick your reg in and you'll get some sort of previous history.

Whats your plans if you decide to get this then ;)

Lovely cheers mate!

Well tbh I was planning on hitting it with the lowering stick with an half decent set of wheels then using it as a daily but after looking at it I think it's way to clean for that so the plans will stay the same and use it for shows. Like I said, I'm a Ford fan through & through but had a nova when I was 16 and always had a soft spot for them!

It'll be nice to have a change really and something else to get stuck into but I don't want to do too much to it if I get it as I think original is the way forward as so many have been modded and you don't see them anymore

A tip for you, keep everything that you upgrade then if you do decide to re-sell it you can put it back to normal to get more money back ;)

Edd on here will love this, I own now a 07 focus 1.8 and a 03 focus ebony lol

Haha, I'm guessing he's not a lover of Ford's? I've got 2 Orion's and an Escort GTi as my daily. Had loads over the years but won't go into details on a Nova forum haha

The second one looks brilliant and really standard, 1.6 ghia?

RST alloys suit the blue one as well.

Had plenty of mates back in the day who had onions ;)

Yeah mate sure is. 1.6i Ghia with 45k genuine miles & husband/wife owners from new. I pulled it out of a garage it had been in since 2004 and within 2 hours had her running, all MOT'd now too. Never seen a welder and is very clean for age but needs minor bodywork. The blue one is my baby though, owned it a few years back, sold it, regretted it so spent ages finding it to buy it back lol! Had it back nearly 2 years now! Going in for some bodywork tomorrow actually & planning/hoping to fully restore & Zetec it in the near future

Go all out on the blue one and put a cosworth in it, far better than a Zetec if you love it that much lol on the other hand a Zetec supercharged could get my vote ;)
