Hi,

Have secured the puirchase of a GTE engine from a 91 nova - mint condition with only 60k on the clock!

:D

However do these engines have cat pipes ot not?

i'm sure mine did. but you can remove it. cant remember what year they dont have to be on your car. think it was around 94'ish.

I thought that they did, im sure they sell de-cat pipes. mite be fr the sri/gsi mind...

DEFO NO CAT ON GTE, Mine had three silencers! But there was no CAT.

Agree wi neil, definately no cat on the GTE, didn't need a cat until 1 August 1992 or sommat daft like that.

yup 10/92, however even if u have a nova after that they usualy dont care if you have a cat or not!!

ideally you would get the later engine with the cat (multec) but fit an earlier exhaust system (new style manifold with lambda hole).

this way you dont get the bosch afm box.

should put out over 110bhp with this setup
