seat wont stay in place

hi all my cars up for mot next week and ive just discovered today that my drivers seat back support wont lock into position the handle on the side just seems to be floppy so i can just move the back without using the handle im pretty sure the mot man wont like this.any ideas how to fix.thanks

If you remove the side trims you can see whats happening as that's where the locking tabs lock the seat and a quick fix would be put the passenger back on the driver seat while you fix the other one.

May find the cables have snapped, had this before and as a quick fix we used lego brick electrical connectors to join the cable back together
