can sum1 tell me if i cud put a full exhaust system from a 1.2 onto a 1.0? if not will any of it fit? and also if the 1.2 inlet manifold and carb would fit. i hav been told this would all work ok and improve performance, would it? cheers!
dont bother mate! its a 1 litre , theres no point spending any money on it
buy urself a nice GTE/GSI engine (about 100quid)
100bhp for 100quid!! a pound a pony! :P
no point throwing money at a 1litre peter
btw the exhaust system wont fit , the backbox will tho BUT the 1litre engine aint powerful enuf to even make it sound good , the tappets will overpower it
1.2 inlet manifold and carb? im pretty sure they wont fit , even if they did u wouldnt be see'ing a noticeable power increase
do an engine transplant :!:

i wouldnt b spendin money on it coz i can get the parts for nothin, n i already av a peco backbox it was jus da other bits i was wonderin about. i thought there might b a chance that the 1.2 manifold n carb would fit coz i know the 1.3sr carb fits the 1.2 and increases performance.
i would do an engine transplant but im 17 an the insurance is high enough on a 1.0!
big bores are cheap n nasty
just wait till u can afford a transplant mate :)

I had a 1.0 engine in mine and even without the back box you could still hear the tapets!!! LMAO
I've put a 1.2 engine in now and my insurance didn't change at all, the 1.2 has a bit more power top end but thats it, at least with a 1.2 you can tune it more than a 1.0.
hope this help
so don't go spend any money on a 1.0 apart from a service.

1 litre engine is OHV
anything 1.2 upwards is OHC.
on the OHV from memory of aragorns the engine is reversed kinda. exhaust is on the rear from the top of the engine not the side! and the inlet is on the top.
so no i wouldnt have thought anything would fit
in fact i doubt the carb or inlet system would fit at all.
there is a CHANCE the exhaust might fit

the 1.2 is a crossflow engine so you have the exhaust manifold at the front of the block and the inlet at the back
On the 1.0 it's a series A style engine and the inlet and exhaust manifold are the same thing and their both at the back of the block
the 1.2 is a better design, but the 1.0 design is the same on the R5GTT but still better to work on a 1.2 as they're easy to play with and don't rattle as much
