View Full Version : Exhaust courier
Can anyone recommend a decent courier for a full exhaust? Its all in one piece at the mo, manifold back so about 3.5ish metres long. All the couriers i found seem to only go up to 2 or 3m :(

Parcel2go or myhermes normally good with this type of service chap, of course you will need sizes and dimensions if you where to arrange it all yourself these guys are fairly cheap mix match rep for these 2 couriers I myself never had an issue with them but other people have.
Checked both of them, P2G won't do 3m and Hermes is max length 1.2m... and tops out as 15kg which I figure won't be enough :(
Might do a roadtrip in the Mondeo, it's got just enough clearance with the seats flat. Hmm

Mark it off to p2g that it's 3m they'll still collect regardless, I have done this many of times mate always worked never been an issue with size being abit off, or failing that if it's not a heck of a trip then driving up there might be easier as you suggested :thumb:

RJ, try www.paisleyfreight.com
Cut it in half and post it. It can be welded back up when it arrives lol

Max length with them is 2m. Couriers have really clamped down on sizes over the last couple of years, we've had loads of trouble sending oversize car part parcels like bumpers, wings, exhausts.
The only couriers that you may be able to use are TNT, Tuffnells or nightfreight but we've found that most of the time they volumise the parcel making it ridiculously expensive. I remember at one point nightfreight would take up to about 6m.
Dave.
Yeah paisley freight are 2m. I did a few online quotes, cheapest I found (which I think was TNT) was £79 - cheaper to drive up and get it myself lol

That was the backup plan, but I think even with cutting it down the weight is still too much. And my welding skills are still rubbish lol

Can you not get it unbolted so it's more like 2.5m plus I like road trips

This is a company we use at work, I don't do ordering so not sure on the max size but worth a try:

it is unbolted, it's from manifold back, no tips though. Still 3.1m lol
Gonna take a road trip in the Mondeo tomorrow, should be about 550 mile round trip. YAY

I have real trouble with stuff like this so I stay away now.
As Dave says, every year the accepted parcel size gets smaller and smaller. Used to be able to post family car bumpers for just pounds.
Don't use paisley freight for anything!! Lost my stainless steel Lexmaul manifold!!!! Then denied they'd even had it!!!
Drove up myself and picked it up in the wife's Mondeo, only a 540 mile round trip. LOL @ BBC weather crying about how the North Penines were going to have 4 inch blizzards... yeah try barely 1 inch
Only real issue was a tyre got shredded by a cats eye just as we got onto the M6 to come back, so spent the next ~250 miles at 50mph on the space saver (NOT fun). Oh and a headlight bulb died. And the dials have stopped working today for no apparent reason. Stupid Ford shitbox.

If the space saver was on the front it probs messed with the speedo

:( Mine's done 180K and is no bother!
Took it to Ford to get a radio code, so figured disconnecting the battery was worth a shot. Yay, dials fixed!
Now the blowers are stuck on full chat. And the nav unit is locked lmfao lol lol lol
Oh and quote Ford guy: "These don't like the cold - we had two that went up to Scotland and both had the same fault with the dials." So the North Penines was probably a bad idea then? "Yeah" lol
