I heard this can be done to increase air flow into the engine, not sure how efective it would be?

Just wondering if it is possible and what has to be done to remove it.

It is the bosch jetronic airflow meter i have.

I suggested recently to ditch the AFM and use a fully mappable ECU such as DTA.

You will reduce restriction to airflow loads, but it won't be cheap.

You will need the ECU around ?300, plus a decent lambda sensor, Throttle position sensor and dis-pac.

The very late GSI came with no AFM just like the SRi. More potential, but they had a CAT. Try using that Fuel injection system.

Mc,

Please excuse my lack of technical knowledge,
but is the air flow meter the square Black & silver box
in the air duct ?
seen it on some novas, my GSi is a 'K' plate & doesn't
have it, but does have a cat.

The restriction of the AFM is minimal, you'd never know the difference in driving the car. you would still have the restriction of the throttle plate which if anything is slightly smaller IIRC. MC has it right, tho i'd suggest throttle bodies, luvley :D
