Hi,

I need to know if the cams support in the coscast head are the same that Kolven heads, I have a cosworth head without cams and supports and the garage says that they cant use the Kolven ones..

Any idea about it???? somebody with the same problem or more info.

You mean a cyclinder head supplied to GM by a company called Coscast (produced under license from Cosworth at that time) that specialise in low volume casting production runs.

Coscast heads are cast by means of the cosworth casting process, which gave birth to the company clled Coscast, that still exists today, producing aluminium heads for a multitude of marques. A process thats nothing to do with Cosworth Motorsport Engineering per say, merely created by the 2 founders of Cosworth to produce the famous DFV cyclinder heads.

When you say supports, do you mean the followers (the bit the cam presses on to lift the valve) or the cam caps (bearings, that you bolt down onto the cams)?

Answer to your question is yes, all distributor style cams are the same and all DIS cams are the same. All are interchangeable.

If if you don't have the caps find another head that has them. Don't panic if the two closest to the pulley have a different date on, that's normal.

Ok, the problem are the pieces to fit the cams. i think cam caps like Stuart says. The engine has a GM head and I buy a coscast head to replace them, but when I try to put the GM cams into the new head and fit it, i cant because the caps are diferent.

In two cases the head is for distributor ignition....

it's possible to coscast makes a head for 2.8 engines????
