I've noticed a lot of this on the Nova facebook pages, people selling their cars by offering a load of £20 or so 'tickets'. I'm intrigued as to whether these things actually work out. Has anyone bought or sold a car this way? Obviously it could be a bargain way to get a car, but the suspicous side of me thinks whats stopping the owner just picking who they want to win the car and choosing a mate of theirs, or just keeping the car and all the money.

Because if you do it off the lottery and people pick their numbers you cant fix it as such. Unless you can fix the bonus ball on the lottery haha. A friemd of mine sold a car like it and it woorked out fine for him. although I'm sure someone will tell you it's technically illegal, witch it is.

Ah that makes more sense, using the results of the actual lottery, I presumed it was a pick the number out of a hat thing.
People do it constantly on another forum I use. Yes it is illegal. lol

If I see a bonus ball sale on the two png fb pages they get deleted. See the same people then on the other nova pages with swarms of idiots paying etc lol
It's shit and stupid. Why do people fall how it? It's basicly a scam.
So i give you £20 along with 50 other people and 1! of us gets a car? SCAM all the way.
Why Is it a scam? Can be a perfectly honest way of getting the price you want for a car you'd otherwise maybe have a little trouble selling.
A lad at my grassing club sold his car this way, somebody got a cracking car for not very much money.Whats the harm?

I'd only have a go if I knew or lived local to the person selling the tickets, I've known a few people to win cars this way

I'm sure it could be an honest and reliable way for the seller to get the value they want and the buyer to "get a bargain". But that assumes the "seller" isnt a twat like many are, especially on the FB groups since its pretty easy to be anonymous etc.
On a technicality it is gambling and should be for 18's or over etc along with licences etc I'd imagine but thats not important and will cause a rant I'm sure :p

Yeah I guess the bigger downside is someone can easily over value a rotten shed of a car that looks alright in carefully taken photos, the 'winner' can't exactly complain much afterwards when they only spent £20 on it.
Of course it's gambling, that goes without saying. As for licences I'm not sure how that would work for a one off.would be like having to get a taxi licence for taking ya mates into town,or an alcohol licence for having a pissup in ya shed lol
Again, common sense and buyer beware as always,to be fair it's no more dangerous than buying bits off a username or even traders on here as per history.
facebook car groups are a fuckin joke from what little iv seen.i much prefer forums, things are way better to access and archive.
