Bought it blind as 'good condition' low mileage car, spares or repairs with a 2 litre 8v c20ne lump for a few hundred quid.

I was lucky...she'll was absolutely spotless and mileage was 41000 with fsh

Unfortunately I can't find the pics when I picked it up. But apart from the engine is was standard.

Needless to say, the first job was to do this

Looks as good as new that shell, must be nice to just be able to do the fun alterations and none of the usual rot fixing.

Ha ha yeah, I can't be arsed with all that nowadays time is a premium with a 3 year old and one on the way! Lol

im sticking with the shonky old kkk for now, not looking for silly power. 280 ish is the target. After least I know it's good for a bit more if I wanted...

So I realised the pulley was a tad close to the chassis leg... despite me using on two other novas..

So bought a new alloy one. That's absolutely tiny! Lol. Smaller than the one on my silver gsi anyway.

Also splashed out on some new kkk water hoses.

I don't suppose anyone know an aux belt that will fit the tiny pulley?? Its approx. 820mm internal dia.

corsakid
27-09-16, 12:55 PM
can you just measure with some string measure the distance and find a belt closest to the measurement, I did that on my nova with the 20v using a bmw 1985 pas belt atm

Will F
27-09-16, 01:36 PM
Yeah - I've done that - its 820mm. I just wondered if anyone had one to hand to save me searching through ebay or taking it to Euros!

corsakid
27-09-16, 01:39 PM
Ah I see I just typed in the length 630x10 v belt found one similar on eBay then went to euros

Thanks matey - I do feel lucky, especially when I see some of the hard work people are going to restoring theirs!

Progress has been bit slow due to the delay in getting some annoying little parts!!

2 cancelled orders for a set of water hoses so far!!

Check if MM Opel Parts has them in store. I'm over round your end (Swansea) this weekend, could pick them up and drop them off.
