won't turn off?!?!?!?

I had to take my SR dash out last night as I couldn't turn the bloody car off! :cry:

As in:

Turn the key
car starts

turn the key the other way
car keeps running

take the keys out and walk away
car still running

I put my old dash in and the car started and turned off fine.

What the hell is going on? :?

naa it's some thing to do with the clocks them selves :?

if you did a mk1 to mk2 conversion the wiring on the mk2 clocks (conenctor block) is different from the mk1 one. Sounds like its shorting with something on the ignition.

yeh just stall it, my mate had the same problem with his 5 door nova he had for a year, but it was like that from when he got it etc, lol

he didnt care stalled it for a year, needless to say after paying ?600 for it a year later when the mot came round the garage quoted ?890 for repairs to give it a ticket, pmsl :lol:

My Mates Astra that got nicked whilst I had it, well he keeps stalling it, and he's starting it with the screwdriver the thieves left behind.

try taking ya hazard switch out it tuns a live up through the dash clocks maybe it broken take the switch out ou wont have indicators but it might turn off
