I have bought another e16se engine to put into my sr, i have a picture of the loom and also have a picture of my e16se gsi,s loom. Just wondering if anyone can shed some light to which colour's from the e16 engine loom would go to what colour of the sr loom or if there is anywhere to get wiring diagrams for both looms to see what colour does what

The first two photos are of the sr loom and the last picture with the plug visable is from my gsi.

Any help at all would be much appreciated

Any particular reason for the conversion or just increase in power?

Most power/easiest option if you're not fussed about running the injection system just switch your 1400sr head onto the 1600 bottom and and sort carburettor or twin carbs to suit. No wiring required just use your existing loom.

The engine has been out the car for a couple of years now and just seen an engine that i liked and just fancy having both novas running same engines with rocker cover being the only difference and getting this one back on the road while i restore my gsi, only problem i will have is the wiring of it as i am not great with that side of things or multimeters. Was hoping with it being a popular engine change someone would know what colour from the e16 loom would go to which wire on the sr loom

basically my grasser is wired up with the least amount of wiring needed, the only wires you actually need to join are about 2or three cos the e16se runs its own engine loom so it's a case of joining up a live for the ecu, switched live for the coil, the fuel pump wire.then you need to run a couple to the clocks, one for diagnostic light, one for the Rev gauge and that's about it iirc You can use your original carb loom for the temp gauge the alternator and oil wires.
thats about all there is to it really they're really not difficult at all.

Is there any chance you would be able to take a pictures of your loom where its joined Andy just so i can see what goes to what to try give me a better idea please, only if its not to much bother tho bud.
