Not sure about E36, but Clios are not great until you modify them and that's expensive.

As a simple track toy, I'd have to say the 1*2
what is an e36bmw? Serious question as I have zero idea on that shit, just ages and 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8 series lol

I'd have to say e36 purely because I've driven a clio 182 and I thought it was total pish. Had to be absolutely thrashed to get it to move and even then didn't feel quick.

I disagree, revving the tits off an N/A is the whole point and i think there a good all round car. I'd have one for a track car any day.

Bmw's on the other hand lack power for the displacement, ive always been disapointed when ive driven them.

I'm not disputing that part what I'm saying is I was totally unimpressed with the Clio. After people saying how quick they were i was more than disappointed after driving one.

I'd say Clio. But only because i personally think the french still build decent hot hatches!!

I say a Clio 172/182. My mate has an E36 and it's just a disappointment.

'E36' is a bit of a general statement. Its like saying 'clio' you can get everything from a 1.2l to a 182hp just like you can get a 1.8 3 series up to an 3l M3.

If you knew what e36 you were comparing the 172 to then the discussion may be a bit deeper.

A 325 or a 328 with an m3 back end and some trick suspe sion mods would be a very well sorted track car.

Yer I suppose it was vague, I would be looking at larger engined bmws 323 325 328. I had a 318is and the lack of power was disappointing but still enough to catch me out a few times lol

I think you should have a ride in one of each before you spend your hard earned money.

Does your racing mate have a passenger seat?

One does one doesn't, both have a lot of money in them though (one more than the other) so not a true representation of what a Clio goes like.

If i built another track car it would either be a Civic EP3 (Type R) or an E36 BMW m3.
