can anyone help? my gsi can't idle. especially from cold. it mostly sits rattling on 500-700 rpm on tickover. each morning or whenever i haven't ran it for 6 or 7 hours (end of shift@work prehaps) i have to 'aid' it by just squeezing the accelerator to get it above 1000 rpm. whenever you first use the car and you dip the clutch. at junctions or pulled over. it drops way below the norm 950rpm warm idle. never mind the 1300,1400rpm when 'on choke'
its smooth, not lumpy amaizingly for such low revs. but ive not a clue what it is. the car does it less often when warmed up. but still does do it. ive messed with the idle screw on throttle body. seemed fruitless unless ive missed summat. is it icv? mas? temp sensor? new thermostat?... pmt? i know its a crap problem but hey.
