Hi,

i have an f15 gearbox and I need to replace the cluster. The f15 in the car has the mainshaft and pinion as one.

The second hand cluster I have has a removable pinion. Both gear clusters have 3.94 final drives.

The question I have can I keep the crown wheel in the car and used the other 3.94 pinion? I wasn't sure if the pinion and crown wheels were matched to each other.

Thanks

christopher

For the sake of another hours work, I would change the crownwheel too in case there is some wear to the cw/pinion already. Plus a gearbox oil change is not necessarily a bad thing.

Im surprised your running a 3.94 - thought it would be a 4.2 or a 4.5 in yours.

I was going to change it but, I was trying to save myself a job. This is in a corsa that I have built, which I use for autotesting and slaloms, not the Nova rally car.

The Nova has a 4.8.

I have a 4.5 CWP to put in the corsa, but with a standard gear cluster it is going to make 1st gear very low, which wont help me on grass.
