Sorry but the Volvo forum read but rarely reply.

Let my sister drive my car as she's going in her for test soon and wanted some practice, feeling generous I agreed! After pootling around the industrial estate a couple of times she did some reverse parking into a bay, after a few attempts she complained it was difficult to get it out of reverse and I thought she was just being weak and I put it into neutral, anyway after a few more reverse parks I take over the driving to come home and find when I press the clutch to put it in 1st it judders and stalls, then it wont select any gears at all so I have to rev match it home.

It looks like something has popped under the bonnet, what is the most likely issue? See the oil on the pipes/bulkhead heat shield and down the side of the engine!

I can't think of anything else it could be but I thought it may have been too old for hydraulic clutch, cheers guys!

Classic mini had a hydralic clutch it's not new technology, just became popular in the mid 90s
