Nova 1.4 sr oil pump ??

Hi all new to here I'm currently restoring a 1990 g reg vauxhall nova sr 1.4 I've got all engine stripped etc heads been rebuilt just after some advice would you recommend changing oil pump ? Car has got 64k on clock .
Before strip down I noticed oil pressure gauge was almost reading full ? Any ideas thanks

Strip it and check the condition. if its scored replace. you can also put in new gears if it is out of spec if the case is OK.

Heard something about the scoring do you take spring out and there's a bush if it's scored Polish up or replace ?
And sorry for sounding thick but what do you mean by out of spec ? You mean worn cheers sam

Also what can make the oil pressure gauge stay on full? Cheers
