It needs cut back and fresh metal repair sections welded in.

Yeh I know what Iam saying is it a hard job? Access looks tight in the fuel filler area.!
Is it hard? Not if youre a fabricator welder.if youre a greengrocer then i spose it is hard lol

Get it cut back and cleaned up and it soon becomes easier to work out what's needed, a few cardboard templates to get your plates mocked up always helps

Probably best to keep tidying the area up so you can see just how far the rot has spread. It won't be easy, but it will teach you some good welding skills!

I did some of best fabrication when I was a greengrocer.
That rot's got bad news written all over it; they don't go there unless there's been accident. Imo it'll be all the a joining seams too. If you tackle it then I'd bring the whole area down to bare metal, repair, reinforce & vactan. It's days of work & tough to get to.

It's defo not been in a accident does look quite tricky to get to properly and make strong again. Don't know what's best to do.

Would suggest you take the tank out and the filler hose etc, as you don't want any ignitables around, places you are welding.
Just in case you didn't intend removing it that is. Will be easier for access anyway.
Push it in the sea and go for a donkey ride.
Yeah.or tour hen weekends round it
I've just been repairing the same place of SharonSR's Nova. Tight to get a grinder in but not hard.
You'll wanna drop the tank, for safety more than anything, then you can get to it all. But your rear beam mount isnt attached to the floor there. That is the worse bit and needs fixing the right way, to make it god and strong.

Cheers for the advice. It's gone pretty bad to be honest. Didn't think my she'll was this bad. Just goes to show. Thing is don't want a shell that is made up of patches.!
Starrt looking for a good clean shell then..

There are a few pics on my project thread but these can be slow and painful repairs if you want to do it properly and it blend in without using filler.

Lol cheers.
One place you never wanna put filler is in a arch. Would be sucking water in in no time.
Seam seal and underseal is all you want covering that up.
Got one but don't wanna mess with it big blocking it.
Why? You can put it all back if you wanted too...

Would do cutout for intercooler! Plus having to stitch weld shell up. If I was gonna do something with it would probably fit a 1.6 8v.
Good luck finding one.i cant find any
