Another C20NE question.....head skimming.

Im going to be having my c20ne head skimmed before long, so Im just trying to find out how far you can go before encountering valve clearance issues. Anybody shed any light?

Depends on the valve lift and pistons your running surely..?

Can you dry build it to check?

Why are you skimming it? Boil it over?

Ok, basically Im giving the engine a little freshen up due to pretty much every gasket and oil seal seapining oil, and the stem seals are knackered too. So I thought while the head was off Id have it skimmed to help raise the compression slightly as well as freshen it up. I know its not really the right way to do it, but Im a bit short on funds so dont fancy going down the piston swap route.
Im fitting an SEH camshaft, but have seen people saying the comp on these engines is too low for it to be beneficial, hence the reason I thought about a skim.

To do compression is fine. It's people that auto do it cause the Hg has gone i don't get.

On these heads you can take over a mm off.mines 1.5mm skimmed off on my grasser

On a c20ne? You sure? Dont wanna go get it skimmed and it locks up when i try turn it over lol

Yeah probs gonna ring them for a chat because I want a price for lightening the flywheel too. Not sure if its had a little skim before so Im unsure how far i dare go with it. If youve taken 1.5 off yours I might just risk it and go for 1mm
