Hi all!

My name is Ander and I´m from the Basque Country, in the north of Spain. I´m new posting here, but not reading the project threads on this great group. As this forum is the main reason I finally bought a Nova (Corsa A really in my country), I thought it would be fair to post some pics of the project.

This car has nothing to do with the projects that can be seen here, but traffic laws are much more strict here and I don´t have so many money and free time as you guys... but well, lets start:

This were the first pics I saw of my future car, as they were posted on a internet add:

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XhapybBjrNU/U_Xa8csGgsI/AAAAAAAACTQ/SURdDedLxrYAXrHIKOJZ7fxvCJNYEmc0QCCo/s640/IMG-20140503-WA0007.jpg

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-1xs3-swjsEo/U_Xa7VJ3S5I/AAAAAAAACTI/_gdqR2wKGqAEuz0tAGN4uQVDyuyC0hGkQCCo/s792/IMG-20140503-WA0005.jpg

It had many faults, but it was rust-free, what I was really looking for. This are the first pics already on my "operating room" :d

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-KzYKJQo2BNA/U_Tbsbg4ULI/AAAAAAAACP0/E3C5miFsdekhJhVHqVNMrNJuq6xW2vIDQCCo/s720/IMG_8303.JPG

The 14nv engine:

First of all, I started cleaning the interior and re-doing the wiring harness, as I was going to mount a Digi-dash and a board computer:

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-3mGkNabi6Tc/U_Tc67lSXwI/AAAAAAAACQ0/J4NFgQwUckQEVOfIh0nY3-SrJb8nN8UdgCCo/s720/IMG_8311.JPG

And the final result, I hope you like it, although I know that in England you don´t like Mk1 dashes, don´t really know why...

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-qyxroN-qzRY/U_OdX76IybI/AAAAAAAACDI/ZjG09ha8vFMaULfjfgAwSRYrmP2Bj-3pgCCo/s800/IMG_8342.JPG

And a few pics of the first time I take it out from the garage, with Astra 15´ alloys

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-WItfQIE418M/U_OdgOCJmuI/AAAAAAAACWc/Mhx2YZfeggg_rbX7tgbnPCnR2baWm9nBQCCo/s720/IMG_8350.JPG

Some more with a friends´GSI:

And here with the GSI bodykit installed:

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-p76jOTfhxko/VYaeaVRg6BI/AAAAAAAACwA/lPxl1RuM5Qo3ANjsVlWr_J1VaV0jvNLDwCCo/s800/IMG-20150503-WA0029.jpg

And... that´s all folks!! for the moment... Later I´ll upload more pics, now involving an engine swap :d

I hope you like it!!

Cheers from Spain!!

P.S. sorry for my English

Always like seeing novas from other countries!

nice plans on the seh, you don't see many big block 8v conversions over here anymore!

going to be watching this

goiko

Yes, it isn´t that common in England to do big block swaps, in Spain the most common swap for a Nova are 20SEH or 20XE...

More pics!!

Brake servo and pump from a GSI (or GTE), as you will see, the location is quite different as it is left hand drive

Selex suspension set with Apex springs, just a little improvement while I make some money to buy some decent coilovers in the future

First startup!! (The loud noise is because the exhaust wasn´t fitted yet)

As you will notice, I have put back the standard dash, as I am building a new improved dashboard for the digidash and the board computer, so, for the moment I will keep this one, I quite like the classic shape:

I have also made a custom center console to hold a 52mm gauge ando two switches for the fuel pump and the fan:

I hope you like it ;)

Hi and welcome, nice project you have there. I rather like how you had the digi dash and the computer in there. Looks cool.

Thank you bazzap8389!! I have followed your carbon Nova project since the beginning, awesome work!!

I haven´t got any pictures from the dash build... For the digi dash I cut out the surrounding a bit until it fitted OK, then I drilled two holes on the bottom of the white plastic of the digi dash, and another two on the dashboard side which is just on the top of the steering column, so I can tighten it with two screws. The worst part is that to take off the digi dash I have to take out the whole dashboard...

To fit the computer, I just take an Astra F center console and cut the computer surrounding at the correct size to fit the radio gap, then glued to the dashboard and then applied body filler putty. finally I painted the whole dash matt black.

I don´t know if you will understand the explanation lol

Nice work Goiko !! I see you in cgs, i am orosa90 in this forum.

Hey Orosa!! Nice to hearing from you, I didn´t know you were on this forum ;)

Just looked through the 1st couple of pictures again and does or did that little pink sticker on the bumper say fat and nice? Lol

goiko

Noooo!!! It´s Fast & Nice lol lol Anyway, the sticker is gone now.

You can find them on Facebook, they have some great machines and they organize nice meetings.

Some more pics,

The exhaust adapted:

Finishing the wiring:

Bumper and grill painted:

And some bonus pics from our last meeting (yes, we like astra alloys)

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-nLeavCzF9_8/Vxy1GQIrlSI/AAAAAAAADhU/C5H07NL-tEkJR0tJZmTnF1ZYpCJv_DJSQCCo/s720/IMG-20151209-WA0014.jpg

And that´s all for now... All the process is very very summarized, it has been a 2-year work with lots of problems, including a broken engine even before mounting it into the car, two bended rear axles, more than 3 dashboard changes (lol) and of course, a lot of great moments with great friends

I´m afraid that there won´t be any new pics until July, because at the moment I´m living in Holland finishing my studies, but I have lots of new ideas so... this doesn´t end here :d

Cheers!

P.S. what happens in Holland?? I have been here for a month and I haven´t seen a single Nova... It´s very sad...:(

I'm a fan of the early dashboard and many years ago I also ran a digital dash in mine. Good job so far

I´m thinking on installing a complete kit of poly-bushes, but I don´t want to spend a fortune on powerflex bushes, I have seen some cheaper alternatives like Floflex and others, what would you recommend me? Have someone tried other alternatives?

Thank you!
