View Full Version : New shell new colour opinions people :)
Right well I have agreed to purchase a new shell to reshell my let into :) just waiting on tax to pick it up!!
so then it's mk 2 with wide arches and gsi bumpers, even though I'm not the biggest fan of mk2's im going to leave it that way.
so question is what colour?? I'm thinking of painting the cage a bright orange so what will go?
if it was mk1 I would have probs painted it mocca brown but seeing as I want to keep it mk2 I'm stuck.
really liking nardo grey from the Audi catalogue but I swears there's a nova painted similar already, another is merlin purple also an Audi colour
ideads and opinions people
cheers plug

Copper/gold seen on bmw m1 would be cool:)
Yellow with black accessories. There used
to be one near me that had bmw headlights which looked real nice

Depends on style, are you going for mk1 early, mk1 late or mk2

He's keeping it mk2.
Spray the car black and spray the cage gold and the some gold alloys to keep in with the theme.
Going to keep it as a mk2 gsi,
if it was mk1, with my plough I'd be going mocca or leaf no doubt about it,
Don't know I've always liked the st orange colour just wouldn't want the whole car that colour, so thought all cage work could be that colour,
why what's your thoughts benn?

I just wondered why orange.
I'm not a fan of grey, yes there are some nice ones out there (think Toyota and the newest Corsa) but when you have al these amazing colours out there, why pick grey.

its still a decent shell but has a sunroof which I don't want lol,
one has come up for a very reasonable price with a full multi point custom cages cage in it which a saves me the hassle of welding one in, it's had all strengthing done and is ready for a let so thought I'd reshell mine over into this one,
benn true I've recently been thinking Merlin purple just waiting on a price for paint at the moment,
andy there's nothing wrong with mocca brown. If I was to do an early sr rep that would be the colour I want,

Nice, But that wouldn't go with orange at all..lol
I like the mocca Brown, if I was to do an early sr rep with plough that is what colour id do,
I know orange doesn't go with purple :( I'd have to decide on a different colour then
A bright coloured front Cage will piss you off when driving
Why not mk1 the shell and spray it brown if your painting it

Mine makes me laugh.
Cause the shell has the wide arches on it and fibreglass gsi bumpers aswel, so fancy leaving it like it is,
unless someone wants to knock me up a fibreglass snow plough front end a little bit wider :) haha might do it in the future
now I'm thinking Merlin purple, and the lighter royal blue for secondary colour, for cage and engine bits, hoses, maybe even wheels aswell

My S3 was Merlin Purple, stunning colour
If you are set on the orange cage then there is a TT that is Aviator Grey with orange trim, looks fantastic, google Trimsport TT if you want to see it...
I think I've gone off the orange cage tbh, I believe a royal blue cage and merlin purple shell would look good and not too in your face
