Need some help Iam stuck on what's best to do with my nova. Car has been off road since last summer. It needs a lot of welding didn't realise how bad it is. Thing is I can't get anywhere near it with other commitments. It's bugging me as she is just sat there on the drive going no where. It's a sr with a c20let in her. What would you lot do? Iam worried it will get worse as I can't get the time do sort her out. The mrs just moans when I mention it lol.

Have you not got lockups or anything near by so you can at least get it out of the elements and have somewhere dry to work on it when you have some spare time?

If it's getting you down then it is time to sell it and move on although.......I have a mini which went off the road due to severe rust, it lay outside at my dad's for over a decade. Last summer I decided to take it here to my house and strip it before binning it, it ended up back on the road, no show winner but my favourite mini!

How bad is your garage? Surely you can quickly sort something and chuck it in there and leave it for when the time is right to start working on it.

Worst case scenario if you are goign to keep it, cover as much as you can with grease or something to try and form a barrier and get a breathable cover, put it on and leave it crossing your fingers!

do half an hour a day, itll be done before you know it .... weld it up, mot it, daily it.

or if you cant be arsed, just sell it for a grand, and go on holiday with the money. (prob what i'd do) lol

Do what every other nova owner does when out their league with repairs...take the engine and interior out then put the rest on the bridge.

While your girl's is on a welding program you can build a heated garage on the side of the house.

Reshell it. You'll always know that it's not the best shell and you'll always panic come mot time... Weigh up the time/effort against the cost of a stronger shell..

Not like shells are readily available either.
