ive been reading back in past articles, and a few people have said that having speakers on the parcel shelf with a sub in the boot sounds crap. Ive recently had my ice nicked and wanna do a good job this time, ive already got some good front components (infinity kappa's, alpine tweeters with alpine amp to power them) so is it best in terms of sound quality to just put a sub in the boot with no other speakers and have my just my front componets give the treble
cheers for ya help
the concensus seems to be midrange in the back. It sounds shit when you have 6x9's and a sub i think.

fuck the rear passengers just get a set of amped up front components as expensive as you can afford

wont midrange speakers in the parcel shelf get distored just the same as 6x9s? or could i make some holes in the parcel shelf for the bass to travel through instead of them going thru the speakers
i was thinking of just having the front componets and a decent sub in the back, however i was thinking it might sound to bassy in the back with no treble coming from there as well.

if the sub aint pointing at the 6by9's and there amped up without any bass (High Pass) they will sound good, im looking to add some 6by9's to the front cos my lil fronts are shite
I've got a set of Infinty componants up front, 10" infinty sub (run off my small Genesis amp) in the boot and a small pair of infinty uniplane 2 ways in the parcel shelf supports for a bit of mid/treble rear fill.
Sounds excellent, not the loudest stereo around but the quality is outstanding (And that's what I was after).
My brother on the other hand has a 15" sub in the boot and a pair od 6x9s - yeah it's loud but when sitting in the front it sounds awful as all the music is aimed at the back of your head.
